How about warm yellow? I think it will go together with bricks and would be a good contrast to dark floor and black cooker. Yellow is an optimistic and cheerful colour and often is associated with food. /Marcin

You should install the WC pan first, and then cut the tiles around it. Depending on how thick the tiles are, you might need to install a packing sheet of moisture resistant MDF or similar so that the WC lid stays up - just make sure the sheet is small enough to be hidden behind the pan. Good luck!

I had this prblem in my holiday let cottage, by the sink and behind the bin, we used glass and had it painted to match the walls then professionally installed no screw holes or covers almost seemless. each panel was about £100 fitted. we also had a splashback fitted in a different coour behind the hob. now thinking about doing it in my own kitchen.

Paint them all Hague Blue. I don’t get the whole painting a feature wall thing - the walls and colour are not the feature, they’re just a backdrop to everything else in the room. Our north facing bedroom is Hague Blue and still feels bright and airy despite the lack of direct sun - white bedding, light flooring and bright accessories
