Do you have family photos in the bedroom?

Family photos are a great way to decorate and bring a family spirit to the home! But there are plenty of places in the house to put them. Do you keep yours in the bedroom?

I have a handful of pictures of my brother & late parents. There is a picture of my mum taken in her late teens on my bedside table so she is first and last face I see.

I said yes because I used to have a particularly nice one of my son and his girlfriend that was black and white and just looked aesthetically lovely. However, I've had to replace it with just a pleasant picture now, as they're no longer a couple. I'm not a huge fan of family photos everywhere just because they're family, but the odd one that's just really lovely, is special.

This is a painting rather than a photograph of my two boys and it hangs in the lounge.

Mine is bi-fold doors, and long against one wall, but it is deeper than usual so you actually walk into it. We are going to see if it can be reconfigured to be more effecient.

We have a feature wall in Gatsby Blue but to mix things up a bit it's the wall beside our bed, not behind the headboard. The headboard is against the window for the sake of better traffic in the room. The other walls are a lightish grey which looks well with our charcoal headboard as well as bouncing some light around compared to the deep blue. The light reflected from the blue onto the grey makes the grey look slightly blue toned which is the actual colour I would choose if it weren't a joint decision. So it's win win.

thankyou. im really pleased with how window seat turned out, i'll be up there with a book and coffee on my day off. :-) Carpet is going to be same throughout all house keep cost down. thick and grey/ silver. when budget gets replenished she wants a bunk bed with desk and seat bed underneath for friends. personally I don't think she will want a bunk bed for long. Getting her to keep room tidy is going to be a nightmare. Paper.......everywhere. notes, drawings etc etc.

I’d definitely have them. Re-sale might be an issue later plus heat travels to cold areas so the rest of the house will feel cooler without them. Fitting them at a later date may be more difficult / could result in having pipework on show - although you have said you’re in the final stages of the work. Radiators, or at least the pipework for them, would usually be fitted at an earlier stage of renovation so fingers crossed it can still be done without having to cause more upheaval.

The bedroom is the safe place for family photos. Baby one of our son, quite a good one of my arse in Levis jeans. Art by the family is spread around the rest of the house as they're quite a talented lot!

My wife adores family photos. She'd happily decorate every wall of the house with them if I didn't fight her for art space...
