Ceiling Shades / Light Fitting

Help!

Bedroom, low ceiling height, darkened but visible corner, what can I do to pretty this light fixture up or what can I swap it out for?

Seeking recommendations on types of shades etc, as I have never seen a screwed to the wall fitting like this before here in the UK.

Budget: c.£150.00, happy to pay lots less!

Hi Annie - is this the only ceiling light in the room, or is there another?

If you need to keep it very slimline, you need to look for a 'flush fitting' ceiling light, and you should be able to find something to suit the overall look of your room.

If there's space in the top of the apex you could fit a light which is suspended from a hook so the fitting is in the same place, but the light can hang down vertically...

Oh wow! This looks really cool, what a great design! Unfortunately the top of the apex is in line with a step, so you'd risk hitting your head with this type of fitting - sadly!

I agree, I think sometimes we all just put up a central light because the wiring is already there. Wall lights, floor lamps and table lamps create a great ambiance to a room. To answer your other question about the use 2 different forms of lighting in a kitchen diner.... You can always look for lighting ranges that offer various sizes of similar designs. But choosing different designs is nothing to fear of as long as it's matching in a way. For example, colour or a detail element. Just as an example you could adjust this to a height of a semi flush and and pair it with a larger light in grey finish and / or with crystal details. Hi, thanks for the suggestions. I've attached the light dimensions. Based on this, I believe the light has a drop of almost 1.3m long and is just under a metre in diameter. While my room is relatively large, my ceiling height is the standard 2.4m so even if this fitting were cut, I still think it would hang too low... Its a beautiful style though so I was just putting it out there incase anyone had come across something similar in a more domestic size. I'd actually have no issues with up to a metre in diameter in theory (room is ~4m * 5m) and the size would be quite striking but around a 60cm drop is the limit I think. Thanks

Hi Annie,

Here are few options within your budget you could replace this fitting with. We would suggest 2 or 3 fittings evenly spaced out to add more light to the room, like in this example photo.

1 Light Merle Wall Light - Smoke

Hula Decorative Wall Light - Aluminium

Kimi Wall Spotlight - 1 Light - Satin Chrome

Alternatively you could install recessed down-lights or go for LED strips, but this would be more costly.
