10 years agoPerhaps something like this? It has a mirror base which makes the ceiling look higher. Standing or wall lights shooting up into gloss ceiling as well?

Comments (6)I would avoid hanging lights if you have a low ceiling. You can get decorative ceiling lights that are more flush to the ceiling (Google will help there). Or else perhaps you can have down-lights fitted into the ceiling? Either of these would provide good 'general lighting' for when you need to clean etc. However, you'll create a much nicer ambiance if you also add lamps/floor lamps and possibly wall lights too. PRO10 years agoI agree, I think sometimes we all just put up a central light because the wiring is already there. Wall lights, floor lamps and table lamps create a great ambiance to a room.

10 years agoThis John Lewis light might do the trick. It throws a beautiful pattern on the ceiling when it's on.
