Grey window frames can we still have plantation shutters?
Comments (28)Hi HU-849894587 If you are unsure about Shutters, another product that we see a lot of people selecting when they have windows like yourself is Venetian blinds. Like with Shutters, they come in a wide variety of dark and light colours as well as louvre sizes to allow you to control light and privacy in your home. A feature that is also incredibly popular is adding tapes to the blind; this finishing touch looks great not only inside your home but also outside for people passing by. Hope that helps. Any other questions, let us know and we'll try and answer for you. Matt...See MoreThoughts on grey windows?
Comments (55)I would go with black upvc windows at the front I think they would look really classy and different. I have an original 1930s round bay window fronted house with the original leaded lights they are beautiful mine is one of only two houses on the street with the original windows. As you can imagine they really need replacing but I cannot bear to let them go but if I have to I would be different and go for grey upvc. Comments (5)Big thanks tamp75. I really like your idea of RAL 9007 for garage door (standard product) and Sadolin "volcanic ash" for the window frames. Hadn't thought of that! And I think you might be right about the weathering of the "traditional" shade of Marshalls driveway products. Have been noticing this as a pass local front gardens. Anyone have any ideas for a warm/soft white shade for the exterior wall? A mum at school suggested RAL 9010 - she said that was the advice her sister (an architect) had given her on her house (she was doing the interiors). Comments (7)Hi Asifa, Either will look good, it really just a personal preference. Do you want to match the neighbouring houses or do you not mind? Are there any planning restrictions that limit your choice? Here is a red brick cottage where we replaced old timber windows with modern aluminium frames. They opted to have a clear glass face to the windows for maximum light into the home. On this house they chose to opt for glazing bars within the windows as the home owners preferred the traditional appearance and wanted their home to continue that design. You can see that both options can look great but it will depend what finish you would prefer. You can view some more images of windows with and without glazing bars at our website: www.hedgehogaluminium.com We also have a large glazing showroom at the Sky House Design Centre in Amersham. Let me know if you would like to arrange an appointment to visit and you can see these examples in person. Rebecca Hedgehog Aluminium 01494 722 882...See More- 10 years ago
