Hi Rebecca Your door is beautiful, you could get a like for like replacement in timber painted any colour you like and keep a circular window. We have replicated stain glass for previous customers in a double glazed unit which looks fantastic and is toughened glass so it's safe and warm. Otherwise you could look at other 1930's styles. You could go with quite a strong colour on your house which would look great against the white. let us know what you decide on.

Morning! If it was me personally I would go for a new modern front door with two sidelights either side to let light into your home. something like the attached in a pebble grey or anthracite grey. Matching your garage door colour always makes such a huge impact it is definitely worth thinking about! I think your fascia, soffit, guttering and cladding suit the property in the colour you have them. If you have the budget the suggestion previously of some updated windows on the bays and at the front could be nice, Origin now have some high side hung sashes which would mean you wouldn't need the extra pane at the bottom of the bays and could get rid of the top openers. For me it would be looks, insulation and being able to repaint in the future....so more questions if anyone is patient enough with me! 1. Can a composite door be repainted in the future? 2. Is there a benefit in keeping the house warm? I am wondering if the actual body of the door is an insulator, so is a composite door filled with something to insulate against the the cold or is a wooden door as 'warm'. Or is the insulating factor dependent on the quality of either door; good composite, good wood is better than cheaper versions of both? 3. Again about insulation, is the 'warm' factor not linked to the body of the door at all but to the fit in the frame? The wooden door we will be replacing, due to the build, will open straight into the kitchen. Hadnt expected this to be quite as confusing. Thanks to those for advising.

The porch isn't attractive but a useful area for hanging coats, storing outdoor shoes etc. I would be reluctant to lose what is a useful extra space. Thinking: Around the door and porch finish the paving and step and if possible continue under front window Paint the porch and and lower panels (It will have to be primed first) with either a stand out colour or a softer option Use window film to give privacy and (in my world) hide the mess:)))
