A pretty indoor/outdoor rug

I have an AquaShield doormat at the beach condo. Very Similar to the LL Bean one but better priced. They have a lot of different designs. I got mine from Wayfair, but lots of places sell them. Just google aquashield doormats.

I agree with all the posts that suggest the mats from LL Bean--I have one in my mudroom and it is fantastic.

The problem, however, is that the door has to be able to clear the mat. In my case, that means a very thin mat. I have an industrial type gray one and even that gets caught on the door. it also attracts leaves like a magnet. This is not helpful, just a warning.

Definitely the waterhog type mats. Amazon has them as well, though I'm not sure they're the same brand name. I love being able to drag them outside and spray off with the hose when needed.

I too like the LLBean water hog mats. They don't seem to wear at all. I have a tan by one door & charcoal by another. The charcoal shows everything.

Another Waterhog fan here. We have one at our front entry. It has a low profile, and its appearance is very unobtrusive against our wood floors. It traps everything and does not slip and slide all over the place, even when I vacuum it. I'd like to have them inside of every exterior door and one of these days I'm going to replace the cheaper mats I have at other doors with Waterhogs.

The waterdog mats from LL Bean. I have used them inside and out. They hold up to sun and rain and do a great job catching the dirt. They are expensive but I have had them over ten years before replacing. They were not worn; I just tired of the color.

I have both waterhog and Crate & Barrel Thirsty Dots. Thirsty Dots come in only 2 colors, but I love the green for my kitchen doors.

Another vote for the LL Bean Waterhogs, they just cant be beat!

I use those super-absorbent rugs that get the dirt and wetness off with one step. I really need them with dogs!

BTW, LL Bean is not the only source of Waterhog mats (just in case anyone was wondering). You can find them at Amazon and from a number of other online sources. I'm pretty sure mine came from americanfloormats.com.

Yeah, I have to agree with Waterhogs. They won't look quite as pretty as the ones Tibbrix suggested since they are monochromatic with nice patterns, but for the function, they can't be beat.

Amazing what an overwhelming bid for the waterhogs there is! I've considered them before but never purchased one. I'm evidently missing something, so I'm off to purchase one! Thanks for all the recommendations!

I have the water hog mats at my back entrance (mudroom) but I wouldn't say they're attractive. Those dotty ones at C&B are cuter!

I tried water hog mats before inside the house at my front door and didn't love the look, but they did keep the floor clean. My problem was that they seem to hold pet hair and dirt. I had a really hard time getting my water hog clean. In the winter, I can't take it out and hose it off, and I didn't like using my house vacuum to clean it so I always used our shop vac, which was an extra hassle and didn't do a great job. They definitely keep dirt and water off of your floor and if we had wood at the front door I would probably use one despite my issues with them. But because we have tile, I worry less about damage to the floor. Haven't found a great solution yet so I use a few inexpensive but cute area rugs I can rotate, and either wash as needed, or set aside until spring when I can hose them off.

I use a low-profile mat from Frontgate that I have used in two different houses. It can take wetness and dirt, and blends in with the floor. If it gets grubby, I just hose it off. They are 25% off right now. I also have two Goldens that are forever wet and dirty :) Frontgate Interior Mat

I got a mat for the same situation at Walmart. It's made in the USA and has cutouts so that dirt, etc doesn't get tracked inside the house. I've had it for several yrs, I think I pad about $15.00, and it has held up very well. This is the entrance we use the most, lots of traffic. I recommend it highly, and will purchase the same when I need another, but probably won't for a very long time.

Need mats. Most online don’t specify thickness ( Ones I looked at). Our door yanks up every mat I’ve tried. Just put in light ,only oiled, aspen floors. Any suggestions for a very thin mat? Thanks for any help.
