chair for dressing table
Comments (6)Hello kconboy1982, I can just see a vase of blue hydrangea's and so the soft textural element of this which contrasts the stark and clean lines visible elsewhere, meant I wanted to give a softer element to the chair. Given you use it as a dressing table, what about something like this sheepskin chair.. : )) You could have a relaxing one too in the room as complimentary seating. In this way you incorporate a softer aspect which would benefit the room beautifully.. If you need to use the existing furniture then add a sheepskin cushion to it or add a sheepskin rug to a chair or sofa, or the Eames chair... Always By-product and never fur. I would never specify fur. For the table you might want to add a mirrored piece to give it a luxurious feel, some discs to sit it on to stop it moving... Some ideas to customise and "Pimp" your furniture.. : ))...See MoreRepainting furniture
Comments (14)Good for you Resh and it is great to see pieces of furniture being given a new breath of life. Personally I am not convinced by all of your finishes, but the techniques are spot on. I would however consider using more than one coat of finishing lacquer/paint especially when you start spraying. In our workshops we sand the paint through all of the processes, i.e. primer, first coat and then the final coat is buffed up to bring a sheen to the final finish. Depending on the quality of the piece of furniture we may well have a primer and then three coats and painting with sanding to each layer other than the final one. With regards to handles, etc., why not have a look at ebay as you often see old/used handles/knobs at very low cost. You can also check your local recycling centre as often these are salvaged from furniture that has been thrown away. Likewise you could also find pieces in the recycling centre that have been put to one side for re-sale at low prices. Other options to find handles/knobs are in bric a brac type shops., etc. I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future....See MoreDressing table looks pathetic!!
Comments (11)Thanks Janet. There's nothing else in the room yet. Only just finished decorating but I'm planning to have wardrobes on the opposite wall and need to keep a bit of space the other side of a dressing table for when I need to dry clothes inside on a heated clothes airer - but mostly that can be stored flat down the side of wardrobes. I agree a stool would be much better but my hair takes ages to blowdry so I definitely need a chair. I don't think I'd use it anywhere else, it might end up as a marketplace giveaway 😏 thanks for your input...See MoreLounge flooring/wall dressing for sophisticated luxe
Comments (3)I have sisal on stairs and I love it. However, I wouldn't use it in a living area with children, it stains. Would you consider huge format tiles in a warm neutral with a slight texture? With underfloor heating and rugs they would look smart and be really practical and not jar with the others possibly? Or as rinked says just use the same. I see Rocket St George as dark and glam and White Company light and airy and Cornish and Neptune as a kind of mix of the two....See Morecat s
