Am pretty sure that if I was a kitchen designer I wouldn't spend hours working out the cost of a kitchen that likely won't fit. However I have met several who could tell you if the budget you have in mind is enough to fill the space and perhaps direct you to some of the cabinet and worktop choices in your budget so that you can start to get excited about eventually planning your kitchen. It might even be possible for the company you choose to visit the house to measure with the current owners permission. What area are you in? Perhaps people could offer recommendations for kitchen studios?

Hi Kathy, loving the blue upholstery on your bed. Very coastal and calming. A great focal point and start to what you trying to achieve [and the dresser too!] You have some great ideas. - have you thought of pendants by either side of the bed instead or just stick to your wall sconces [will give you much lighter / cosier feel]_black string = not bound to finish choices for the lighting body? [you could still use wall sconces - sconces also can go above the dresser [you have lots of options on mixing & matching] - you can relocate the pendant where the door is - where the fan is here [just close it off] - for walls, I would go for breezy/ coastal blue paint to add some life here or sand colour textured wallpaper - start with wall first & the rest will follow naturally and you will expand on with great confidence Message me if you are stuck or need pointing in the right direction. Hi Sarah, You can modify an existing extension, but in your case, as you said, you might need to replace the spanning beam - unless the structural engineer finds a way to extend this, but you will have a column inside the space, which might not be preferable. Full length bifolds, again depends on the structural design. You could probably have them, but not necessarily. There's plenty of design tricks with glazing to ensure it looks great and brings the right purpose. I wouldnt necessarily block the second entrance if I could. Relocating the toilet will be a game changer in my opinion, as it will open up the space even more and allow you to have a living area with dining as well. Also if you are hiring an architect, check with them the option to not extend the current side return, and modify the glazing & layout only, i think there's some potential there too. You can do plenty of awesome things with your space, the key is to have the right people on board. Hope this helps. Cristina.

I think shortening the lounge is a great idea. Could the new kitchen door go through the cupboard in the hall next to the shower room? This would make the new wall nicely balanced with the window in the new dining room.
