Thanks Jonathan. I’m not totally adverse to the yellow and perhaps your right less yellowish window might help crisp up. I like the warmth statement and blending with greenery that current colour has but it needs painting badly and so having moved in last year feel need to make a change and loose yellow. I suppose as it is tired and everything in the house is either yellow or green (avocado) and tired!!! I’ll look at greys with off white windows as you suggest......

Hi Colette A useful tool which I use all the time in this industry is use the Farrow & Ball website, find the nearest colour which matches your selected colour and within that it will suggest complimentary colours. Some people prefer harmonic tones whereas other people like to see contrasting colours so it is really down to your own opinion. Another website which I use quite a lot is Little Greene. Hope this helps

Siobhanmcgee90 I couldn't agree more. Half curtains belong in caravans or campervans. I was not suggesting leaving it bright white, that was a base coat to remove the current paint choice so you could a get a better idea of the space. I would live with it for a while before rushing into a colour which may not be right with your new flooring. You wouldn't want to have to repaint it more than once. Don't choose a colour before you have decided what your other accents such as side tables, lamps maybe a coffee table and bookcase or shelves are going to be. I would wait to see how the sofa looks in the room first. You are rushing into a choice under pressure and might well regret it later.
