Definitely radiator cover or paint radiator to tone in. Definitely paint shelves either white or red if put against one of the white walls. If you want to keep it light then go for light coloured sofa, beige/cream or such then bring the red colour in with cushions and another tone such as blue. Use also a different coloured throw to drape over arm of sofa and add other colour accessories/pictures around room. Certainly the blue sofa suggestions are very good alsi if you want a fuller feeling to the room and then soften with lighter complementary cushions and accessories.

Thank you both. Slate was my original choice then I overthought it and started doubting myself! On our way back to the shop now to have another look and hopefully get it ordered.

I think pink would be nice but might not be practical? (Certainly wouldn’t be with our family 😂). My brother recently had a large kitchen extension and it sound like their colours are fairly similar - in the end they bought two Hendricks sofas from Habitat in orange velvet. It sounds a bit drastic, but they look amazing and are really robust - I can highly recommended them!

The carpet is nice, but I think another carpet in grey or beige or taupe would look nicer and won’t be teal overload. It would show off the teal sofa to a tee. These couple of pics show rugs rather than carpet but I hope you get the idea.
