need help with porch door and front door
Comments (18)Hi Vkololgi We think a grey traditional door with narrow glazing bars would look great against your white rendering. It gives a slightly modern twist to the house without looking out of place and will let in lots of light. Good luck with your project and post some photos of the final result when all the work is done....See MoreHelp with Windows and Front Door needed
Comments (29)Hi Minnie thank you for the help darling, yes we will mirror the right side porch brick column then split the as rest sidelights. Nice and centered for my symmetry obsessed brain. I think I know what you mean about the horizontal bars, especially as they would have to work with the panels in the doors and I can't really see how that would work. I am still fighting with the idea of plain glass though, not sure how I could get to see some modern clear glass leaded panels?? I have this strong gut feeling that adding a bit of detail to the panels will make the whole entrance feel nicer. Colour wise I think would rather have a little contrast especially as we have the garage door as well, but I'm not feeling the stronger colours. I am considering light blue from farrow and ball, too safe????...See MoreHelp with front door please
Comments (23)Hi Patrina The first door you picked it a nice merge of traditional and contemporary. It's more modern but the glazing bars across the side lights mirror the Georgian bars you have on the windows & it has traditional ironmongery, we think its a good statement door. We have also looked at some other options for you. The contemporary doors don't look out of place on your house but our favourite is the blue traditional door with narrow glazing bars as we feel this works best with your home. you could add a matching sidelight. This door would also look nice in white or a sage green colour. good luck with your project- we hope you find the right door for your house....See MoreFront door colour - help needed!
Comments (18)Here you go - some pics of a dark green (F&B Studio Green on our door; we also had stained glass made as the original was missing and had been replaced with that chicken wire security glass) - as you can see the colour works with lighter brick. Not sure it would if our house was all red brick, rather than just being trimmed with it. I'd imagine you want chrome rather than brass door furniture for a yellow door too...I'd recommend a vintage fox door knocker though, or something else ornate and fun!...See MoreAnne Haimes Interiors
