The bed is moving to the spare room and the carpet wallpaper and paint has been chosen. I'm looking at new bedside cabinets and a dressing table. But wondered if I could change the wardrobe to make better use of the space?

I quite like the wardrobes there. If possible I'd move the chest opposite the end of the bed and have either a little chair there or a small dressing table with a mirror behind. I'd just paper behind the bed and maybe paint the wardrobe doors in the wall colour?

Ok we have picked out some paper and going for a light grey, would you leave the frames to the wardrobe magnolia and paint just the doors or the frame aswell? Also would you paper in the corner and above the wardrobe or just the back wall behind the bed?

I'd paint the door and frame and maybe even the ensuite door just to lose the effect of the number of doors in the room. I'd just paper behind the bed so that stands out as the focal point so paint above the wardrobe and the side of it

You could always totally knock in the wardrobe for extra space and put a moveable clothing rail there where you can just roll it out of the way any time, orrrr there's the option of getting a bed that lifts up to reveal storage underneath for clothing etc. Those can be quite useful when it comes to making the most of space. Then you could put whatever you wanted in place of the wardrobe. Good luck!

Hi, I agree with the painting of the robes and door the same as well as a large mirror, (maybe horizontal with a shelf under for putting on your make-up) where the drawers are - can they be relocated?

Instead of a sleigh bed which would be an expensive feature you would be stuck with for a long time, I would think of making a feature bed head to go on the wall that can be changed as your tastes change without too much expense. Have you been watching Design Challenge - some good ideas there that could be adjusted to suit. For window treatments I would go for two layers, a roller blind, plain or patterned and some sheers or soft fabric on a pole to soften the look and that could just hang to one side.

How about sectioning that area off altogether and removing wardrobe doors so that you perhaps get a walk in wardrobe designed so that the whole of the space can be used rather than having a little corridor.

My initial thoughts were wondering if I could section it off for a walk in wardrobe but not sure what layout to do to make it work as regards to getting into the ensuite also unsure if it would make the room too dark as it would be one window rather than two.

i thought about a feature headboard but I'm not sure it would work with the current bed.
