If secondary finishes are required, like the majority of our stairs are, then the metal stairs will also take much longer to finish. Most importantly Ladies and Gentleman, is the cost. A metal/steel stair will cost, at least twice as much. So, if you require a stair that needs say a marble/stone finish to the treads and risers and a plastered finish to the soffit, only one practical option, CONCRETE.

Yes, match it but maybe it needs to be honed to prevent slipping and perhaps use dark stair nosing in the same colour as your inset square tiles on the floor

My son and his wife have just moved into there first home, they live in Poland, the front hallway leading to stairs is flagged with the crazy paved style marble flooring (see below) the filler/grout is an orangey colour, they are presuming It has darkened with age, making it unsightly now. My question is would they really have to renew the whole floor just to be rid of this ?? Or is ere something more they can to to perhaps lighten it??
