Jonathandb1972, I was thinking of going with a grout that is the same colour or lighter than the grey tile. The hex will be grouted in a medium grey. This has already been done in the loo (the hex) and looks great. Neither are grouted in the above picture. Do you think there will still be issues with where the grout lines are if they are the same or lighter than the tile? Also, where the hex tile in the shower meets the grey tile will mainly be covered by the shower's profile. However, the shower only goes up to about 2m, so there will still be a visible "meeting" of tiles above that. My builder is a little concerned about how this will look as he will have to cut small pieces of tile to fill up the edge, which may stain once they start grouting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best...

Hi nchavda88. It's hard to tell without a floorplan but what do you plan for above the ledge? Is that where the mirrored cabinet would go? Could you have an interesting cupboard in the corner to the right of the window? Or some cabinets between that corner and the radiator? An expanse of mirror makes the whole thing look bigger and feel more open - as I've found in my tiny bathroom and my tiny shower room. I've got storage underneath, forming a ledge, as part of a run of built-in furniture into which the loo and basin are set. It's very sleek but the tiles I've chosen add pzzazz and the mirrored wall above the ledge allows for a really open feel.

The wood effect tiles tend to only come in quite large sizes, saying that, it might do the trick. I'm going for a smoked limed oak LVT flooring through a very large portion of the house which butts up to the kitchen doorway, so I'm not sure if I could see that sort of amount of wood effect going well. I could get a hold of some more blonde/warm samples but I'm guessing what HIS answer will be already although its certainly worth a look. The herringbone is a glossy tile, but also textured ripped and pitted, it is however £333/square metre so oven splash maybe but not as a main on both the kitchen and laundry! I'm operating on a budget of £600 to £1000 for tiles supply only, plus trims, adhesive, etc. If I tile regular splashback heights, its square metres, plus nearly another metre behind the oven up to the extractor. I hear what youre saying about being careful not to detract from the lights. As we see the window directly from where we sit in the living room, we found we quite like that the wires disappear into the black background so the globes kind of float there. Thats mainly why I liked the marbled effect paper rather than a strong pattern or light colour there. / Here is a better view of the Terra pearl that I am waiting on (less than £50/m), and as you can see, youre all spot on that I'm looking for texture / a more tactile finish. Hello Keyhole Interiors, thanks very much for your help. I have thought about hexagon tiles, I thought metro tiles as well would look too busy. I do like the look of textured white tiles too (with a gentle geometric print). Assuming they would need to be used with plain white or grey tiles. It’s a very small bathroom so my aim is to make it look as light and airy as possible. Perhaps the floor and behind the bath could be hex and the rest white. Although if I want the room to look bigger should I stick with walls all the same colour (white) and maybe a grey hex floor. Oh.. decisions, decisions! This is why I am on here, my inability to make decisions means I still have this old lady bathroom! :-) So disappointed that the tiles I originally wanted are super expensive. It took me that long to decide on a scheme and the quotes came in! Just had a quote for £182 per square metre! Back to Topps then!
