I disagree with the above comment. I think you need to be very careful about using (cool) grey. To be clear, grey is just a rather meaningless word to describe potentially dozens of different colours. Blue/greys can feel extremely cold and can potentially clash with other pale warmer neutrals. Also, the cool grey 'trend' began to wane around 4 years ago and it has been replaced by warmer more 'classic' neutrals. This is apparent from a quick glance at any social media platform or any paint manufacturer posts such as Little Greene or Farrow and Ball. This matters as trends pass and can devalue a house. There is a large amount of grey tiles, flooring and vanities that have been manufactured and need to be sold. If you are using grey, be sure to question if the room is light enough not to feel too bleak and that there is wood or something warm to create a contrast. Greys that have a 'tinge' of colour are a good bet as they can provide a sophisticated neutral backdrop rather than 'battleship' grey which can feel a little too much like undercoat.

Looking at the ground floor (which I know you haven't asked about!), I'd be tempted to keep the loo and turn part of the kitchen into a utility and then have the kitchen in the space where the current bath and reception one are and open plan to dining room area where it is currently. That would mean you wouldn't have to move the soil stack (and could possibly lay the upstairs out so the loo up there was against the same wall) and would gain a utility which is handy to hide stuff away if you go more open plan.

Hello Jessica, I would suggest just to use a wet room or walking shower as the space it's a little restricte. You could also do something similar to the image I attached. I hope this helps. Diego

It's by Roper Rhodes but they don't seem to do similar anymore and it's modern styling - Shaker is more my style too.
