There are many causes of condensation, and no window can ever promise to eliminate it completely. You should not believe anyone telling you new windows will never condensate. If steel windows are out of your budget, there are aluminium steel-look windows with better thermal insulation that should be a lot cheaper. They won't give you the 100% look of the genuine Crittall® or other steel windows as the profiles, the way they're made, and the design is too different. However, the current range of aluminium steel-look is very well-designed and worth at least comparing with the superb genuine article. Happy to provide further advice, give information on the various brands available and where to buy, if you'd like to get in touch. Hope this helps Kind regards, Nick

Daisy, that’s interesting about swapping the panes around upstairs. I always thought it was better the way they are now so any reason for that or just personal preference? Next door is the other way around. But talking of next door Minnie, it has not been updated in decades and so I’d like to not diverge too much but at the same time take the lead in updating IYKWIM. When I finished the later mock up with the existing style of windows I did think it looked nice. Maybe the porch and planting improves the overall look along with a fair bit of doodling photoshop!

I agree with 4 Panel sliding door cause it make it unified with the other windows on the left (each panel in similar width), For the front adding small porch with landing and gable roof Will make it more welcoming I just concerned about the half cladding at the front it gives of the vibes unfinished building, usually half cladding wrapped around all the second story exterior But from the front and back picture you share it seems the cladding of second story on front and back were different color so at least you should paint it the same color if adding cladding to the second story too expensive for temporary I would recommend move the tv so it didnt covering the window, if you add sliding wall in the wall section of the bottom right corner room and use Murphy/sofabed it can be used as guest room Change the orientation of the closet near enterance to get bigger foyer and space for small window to get more natural light Change the WC door opening location so ITS more private and open up the wall so the hall feel more spacious
