Hi Catherine, Every year there is a trade show called "Eco build". I visit every few years as I find it doesn't vary too much from year to year. It is in London and it is usually held in March. It is where I go to find suppliers of all my eco products and get new connections / see new products. This link shows all of the contributors that were there this year:http://www.ecobuild.co.uk/exhibitors  I have used 2 companies in the past and wouldn't recommend them so I won't be putting their names here (don't worry they aren't on the list), but I would definitely search through this list and call a few people who you connect with and start the research process. I think your ideas are fantastic. Don't give up and don't let anyone tell you that its a bad idea / it doesn't work / its not worth it etc. Have fun and keep us all updated! Jo

hi the design of the handrail will cost as it will require a flat bar to be fixed with the same pitch as the stairs. if you have a straight run stairs it will be easier to achieve. if you split the work into the timber joinery being provided by a joinery company for the new treads and then get an architectural metal worker to make the handrail you can reduce costs and avoid a markup from the stair supplier. the design is pretty easy to achieve though! best Rowland

I also have a library of design books which are constantly updated. Insta and Pinterest are too saturated for me. My head can't cope with that flood of images. Travel, hotels and restaurants are a fantastic source of inspiration. I also use Netflix there are some very stylish backgrounds to a lot of content. Programs with stunning scenery in wilderness areas also inspires me for colour and texture.
