I think it is a bit awkward for such a large room. As mentioned, you could fit 2 single beds comfortably, but probably under the windows, end to end. A double would fit but only realistically if one side is pushed against the wall, which is a significant compromise. I think you should definately not have the built-in cupboard, as it restricts your options. Are the dimensions fixed, e.g. are you building above something else? The radiator would be best behind the door as this is dead wall space anyway.

I didn't care for either of the layouts. Can't stand bedrooms where one side of the bed is right against the wall: makes making the bed a pain; requires someone to crawl over the other to get out on the side, or get out crawling down to the end; and just plain doesn't look nice.

Hi Kerry Thanks for your response. I am attaching the final plan for your reference. Lots of things still needs to be sorted. Need expert advice. 1. On GF there is a door and solid wall to go to the lounge which we are expanding, we are in two minds to whether to keep or to remove the solid brick wall and replace with glass pocket door or slider to give a open look, or shall we keep the wall to maintain privacy and will get two walls on both sides to play with interiors ( size of the lounge is pretty ok)? 2. Shall we put glass partition or solid wall for the dining area showed in plan ( which we are planning to keep either as play room/study/spare room - to be decided later) - keeping the access from both sides- lounge and from outside. Advice please. Upstairs: 3. Now as per the plan we are having 4 double bedrooms. We are converting the 5th bedroom in a very tiny box room ( not going for on suite as shown) access from BR3. 4. We have to get rid of the onsuite of BR2 ( which we are not very happy with :( ) and also had to compromise with the big family bathroom ( again not very happy) to make the landing bit open and big. We are now thinking to make the landing bit small and keep the BR2 big by moving the family bathroom approximately 500 towards the landing and keep the landing small? Advice please. 5. Is the size of the onsuite ok or shall we move 4” towards the walk-in cupboard and make it big? We are still deciding on walk-in shower vs shower tray enclosure. 6. Will the Family bathroom be too congested? I have been advised to go with either 1000 x 1500 corner bath or 1200x750 shower bath, which I am not very convinced with. Can’t get everything ;) 7. Ideas on the location of bathroom fittings please. 8. We are going for water UFH on the ground floor. Any advice on flooring for GF and FF. We are thinking to keep the carpet and radiators for upstairs or laminated flooring recommend? Opinions pls. 8. Ideas on roof light/ roof lantern pls. 9. Advice on all the doors pls. 10. We are going for cove light, spot light and central light but confused to give the detailed design for electrical points. Electricians waiting ! I agree with Kazzh re the doors although perhaps mirrored ones would make it feel bigger but you could just change the handles for smaller ones and consider painting the doors in a colour with little contrast or the same as the walls. I’d paint the walls and radiator the same colour. I think a dressing table is essential? Yours is a little big for the space but not massively so. Perhaps consider swapping the stool for a round velvet one to vary the texture? Personally I’d go for a larger quilt, it will feel more luxurious and add cushions (again using different fabrics) and maybe a throw (but don’t arrange the throw so it encroaches on the floor space) I’d also add lamps and art
