copper kitchen tops

We are designing a new kitchen and recently saw a distressed copper top which looked stunning. We would only want it for a small breakfast area at the end of the kitchen island, but does anyone have any experience and can comment on the pros and cons? Thanks.

Not sure about copper counter tops but I know that copper sinks are very long lasting and work really well, so I guess counter tops would be the same?

Totally agree with @oneplan, Italy is when it’s at! We were over there last September and me being me, had to get to some interior design studios, it’s just jaw dropping how far ahead they are in the design game, not just in kitchens, throughout every room in the house including exteriors, most of my interior furniture is direct from Italy, just bought two new bedside cabinets for the bedroom and a feature chair to complete the living room, yes it’s expensive but I don’t plan on changing any it for a long time (last sofa lasted 20 years)

Copper and graphite work well together. Perhaps look at something along the lines of Calacatta Marble. Here’s a small kitchen we did. Graphite on the bottom with copper handles and Dove Grey on the top, Calacatta Marble worktops

Hi Peter,

We love using copper for kitchen surfaces.

Its relatively easy to take care of (we use teak oil) but you can pretty much make it look as distressed as you like depending on what treatment/seals you use.

We can supply and customise copper surfaces to any dimensions if you would like a quote?
