Hall, stairs and landing - before and after
Comments (9)so pleased to see these before and after photo's as I'm currently after inspiration for my own stairs and landing which are both very dark with hardly any natural light ... 25yrs ago I spent about 12mths removing layer upon layer of paint from skirtings and dado's etc from a 1930's property to get back down to the natural wood and have been exceptionally hesitant to slap another layer of paint on them all after so much hard work in the past, but having seen this now, I think its the way forward that I should be going .... so well done, the whole look you have created is wonderful...See MoreDark cloakroom ideas?
Comments (14)I have pale grey tumbled marble on the floor and walls (up to sink level) in my small downstairs cloakroom and a large white framed mirror on the wall that faces you when you enter. The upper walls are currently white as I wasn't brave enough to embrace colour when I first created the space. But the room is crying out for (and will soon have) a rich, deep hue like the one in your picture. I think a dark F&B blue/grey with light grey tumbled marble slabs or other natural stone makes a stunning combination. Comments (4)hi Sam, the look you are trying to achieve can be done with leaving the paper in place, although it is always good to remove old layers of paper etc when embarking on a major piece of work. The system you are planning will be carried out by a joinery company who will make the panelling. I think it is a good look and ultimately you need to have what you like.
