Nothing beats the romantic flickering flames of a real fire. There's something magical and timeless in having a wood burning stove with its unrivalled warmth and furnace-like glow. Add to this the aroma of a log scented room, the crackles from the fire, and seasoned wood alight with its hypnotic white-hot centre! Dreamy! The final ingredient... a large mug of hot chocolate... Just wow! Who would want gas or Indeed television for that matter?

I think we're confusing each other! When i said are you wall mounting? I meant the back panel, not the fire. You say you're having a limestong shelf...........do you mean hearth that sits on the floor. It would be impossible to put a limestone shelf on a wall without support under it. A hearth and back panel set look like this, this is limestone, but comes in different colours. It's very heavy and has to sit on the floor. and....................they are usually finished off with a fire surround the same as the picture that i gave you above and now below. If it's a solid back panel, then you can put the fire on it wherever you like, it doesn't have to sit on the bottom on the hearth like the one above. What you need to look for are Hearth and Back Panel sets. Hope this helps

That is a very attractive fireplace. I’ve never seen a gas fire that nice. I agree painting the surround white, grey, anything really will be an improvement. I rather like the hearth. Here’s some ideas
