Thank you so much JMW. I love the idea of mismatched dining chairs. We will have the matching ones we've got for the time being but something to think about for the future. Oh and the integrated blinds are grey, a paler shade than the frames, so I have missed the boat on putting in white ones. I did consider that but my husband thought it would be too much white. Thank you too Tamp - your encouragement and support is gratefully received and I'm thrilled you think it looks great! I think it's a good point that once the floor protection is up it will change things dramatically. Will post pics once we've finished! Thanks again.

Hi, kitchen looks great btw. I also wouldn't paint the walls and add colour in the way of a roller or roman blind. And perhaps a few accessories. Now this sound like a mad idea but I've noticed you haven't put in the kick board yet and was thinking this could be a bold colour, something that picks out a colour from the blind. I've shown orange in the pics (taking inspiration from the bowl) but it could be any colour. Easy to do, just get some acrylic Perspex cut to size and pop on the front of the standard white kick board. Think it will really frame the kitchen and make it stand out. Alternatively you could use LED light strips for a similar effect.

Hi Demilade, congratulations on your offer being accepted, hopefully you'll get into your house soon. ti bring some light and simplicity into the room I'd suggest to paint it light grey with warm undertones. you'd need to check few samples in the room before you can choose the right one. some greys can look greener then the other depending on the lighting. I'd suggest to look at the colours similar to farrow and ball skimming stone, purbeck stone, pavilion grey, ammonite. to add an interest and liven the space up, you can add some pattern and colour. mustard, brass, yellow, but orange, ochre would go nice with the grey and will light and warm up the space. some people don't lime to have tv above the fireplace because it's would be quite high up. a mirror would be a good choice above the fireplace, it would also bounce some light back to the room from the window. you can try to put the tv to the right of the fireplace. ikea besta has a nice tv bench, with a lot of storage and it come in high gloss white and would reflect the light too. to finish everything is good to add a big leafy plant where the tv is now and some prints. you can create an interesting gallery wall with some pictures, photos, art and prints.
