For me its the first or third one, I think having a contrast with the curves of the other sofa is good!

Hi Maria and all Thank you so, so much for your advice. The arm covers are only ever intended to be temporary - something to keep kitty claws from ripping holes in everything. I would like off-white cotton/linen with lace. There needs to be something on the arms, so it might as well be a 'period' look. Now, although this isn't strictly design, but I decided to get rid on my modern phone and replace it with a period, retro GPO phone. See photo. I'm the very first person to put my hand up, when it comes to clutter! So, I hope I haven't overdone it with the phone. Incidentally, I'm still no closer to covering the sofa. I've decided I truly do need seat cushion covers, once again, because of my pets. It would certainly be a cheaper alternative to just use scatter cushions, but I couldn't get away with just that, and still the seats would have no protection. It's so difficult to choose the right colour. It needs to: a) go well with the opposite green wall, and b) work well with the rug (which I adore, and simply couldn't lose). [deep sigh] :)

The last picture of the room is like peering through a letterbox. Could you share a picture that’s a bit higher? I like curtains that match the walls so a lovely green velvet would look amazing.
