Hi Laurence, have you considered using recessed lighting uplights to shine up the wall. The reflected light will illuminate the whole room. I would suggest using high power LED Strip like our Samsung Strip, it is 1000 Lumens per Metre and draws just 8.2w of power. If you need it even brighter we have the 2000/m Lumen version. The effect uplighting will create will be less industrial looking than Corn Lamps. Hi, We would second linen shades. They are lightweight and thin, allowing a wide array of light to filter through. You could also try rattan shades these allow a large amount of light out through the gaps in the shades. Glass shades are also ideal and non of the light is filtered as it comes through the shade. I have a long living room dining room with two of these lights, one at each side. Any ideas for a pair of wall lights that would complement these? I plan to have one at each side of the room (either side of a chimney breast which has the TV mounted to it). This particular ceiling light is brushed nickel, but would it be okay to have antique brass wall lights? Not sure if mixing metals would be an issue here. Any suggestions would be very welcome!
