I think it could look good either way but does depend on the rest of the house/decor. We did our basement windows and doors in slate grey with white surrounds and it has made the room to be honest. Images shown both ways

Well AJ, I am really tempted, I know with coloured doors it is all about the finish, but we do have professional decorators, so it might be now or never, should it be properly black or a very dark grey? thing is, my husband usually lets me get on with it, I think I should listen when he is really doubtful. On the other hand, we have to do the whole house because of the rewiring, so it is an opportunity for coherence and unity instead of our usual mishmash. Dunno

We are planning a renovation, removing a wall and creating an open plan kitchen/dining room. The new galley style kitchen is planned to have Charcoal (Dulux Ticking), and light grey (Delux Dieskau Half strength) cabinetry on window side, Light textured engineered stone (smart stone - imperial Grande) on benches and splashback, with lower timber (brush box Matt) bench coming off the island, with white walls. We also are installing spotted gum Matt finished floors. I want the room to feel light and calm, and welcoming, with the feature being the darker cabinetry. We are installing new sliding doors and window, and am tossing up Aluminium Pearl White, or a contrast colour in the Monument Sorry, no photos. I will try and upload some, but any advice in the mean time would be greatly appreciated.
