I like options 1 and 2. If I'm honest, option 3 just wouldn't seem to do the rest of the space justice to my mind but that's just personal taste. Have you also thought of mixing a different style/period table with eames chairs or even mixing different eames chairs? The images i've found aren't quite what I had in mind but gives you an idea.

Thank you Jonathan for your thoughts. We have worked with an architect to plan the house. The kitchen at the moment is an the first floor but it means we feel we live in a flat with little access to the garden. It is always an intention to spend time outside, especially meal times...it just never happens when everything has to be carried down to the outdoor. Interesting to have other perceptions. I will look closely at you living room layout suggestion though, hadn't thought of the layout you suggested. This would be more L shaped as the plan suggests. We can move doors, tv points and the fireplace could perhaps be evened up on the wall.

I'm not sure about either to be honest, sorry. I appreciate the ideas though! I think where i'm struggling is i quite like something gold/marble, i'm just aware I have gone for quite statement pieces so I want everything to effortlessly flow together and look well-styled but not gaudy/mish-mashed. I suppose I know how i want it to feel i.e. luxurious, elegant and feminine rather than how i want it to look, if that makes sense? Great space! At the moment all your furnishings are all squashed together which makes your living area feel compact and busy. I would pull the 2 sofas apart to separate them from each other. I would also pull your rug and coffee table away from the sofas to create the feeling of a larger area. If you can I would change your rug to a light colour - either a nude or a beige as the majority of your furnishings are dark in colour and this will help break it up. Also if you have a central light fitting I would go for a brighter bulb one that gives off more of a white than yellow colour as the room feels quite dark with the blinds drawn. Hope this helps!
