Big lighting feature

We have a space which we are struggling to fill and would appreciate and tips, advice, thoughts etc. It's a high landing area above a staircase. Quite dark. It feels like it needs a big feature light / chandelier but we are struggling to find pictures or websites which sell these and could give us some inspiration. Anyone got any thoughts or advice? The pictures don't show it that well but it's about 5-6m high (16-18 feet).

Something like this perhaps....try ebay. That one is nearly 2 mtrs long and only 100 pounds.

Hello, Have you seen http://www.ixxidesign.com/producten/beeldenbank/kunst/van-gogh? If you like Blossom prints they have Van Gogh's Almond Blossom print that you can make as big as you like to fit your wall or headboard space. I was very tempted to use this when redecorating my bathroom recently and will probably do a feature wall in my bedroom when I get round to it. They seem to have a large image bank of other art work if the colour is too much. What I like is that you can take the design with you if you move, unlike expensive wallpaper! Good luck with yours! Thank you. the current tiles in there are really quite big - much bigger than this size on the paper. To be honest I'm trying to do as much cosmetic improvement to the house as possible using as little money as possible so I hadn't thought of removing the bottom tiles and doing that whole wall with this paper but yes I think that would look good, much better than doing half. I imagine we could remove the current tiles ourselves but would then get someone in to re plaster that bit of wall? If so, how long is it before you can paper a newly plastered wall?

You could reduce the height of the empty space by putting in a second lower ceiling. It can make a dramatic difference to proportions for not too much work or mess.

Hi Joel, that is a lovely space to utilise the height with long drop pendant. It depends very much on your personal taste as to what type of pendant or chandelier you use - we're quite contemporary and have used a cluster of mixed height pendants like the bocci 14.1 or Tom Rossau TR7 below in previous projects. If this is a bit pricey we have many other pendants that would look amazing in this space that will suit your budget - feel free to give us an email or call if you want to chat further.
