victorian tilesLove those blues, much better than the white. You can get some beautiful 'mock' Minton tiles now. I gave another lady a link to them for her Victorian Hallway. The blend of blues should go beautifully with the light and dark, which i love. The darker ones at the bottom, keep the height in the room and the lighter ones above make it wider and airier. Fabulous. Can't wait to see the pics. I personally like these best, as they also have a touch of warmth and you were going to put in a wooden plate rack if i remember, so will pick up on the warm wood tone, blending the wood colour into the kitchen seemlessly. These are my favourites as they are quite 'Mintonesque' ! Victorian TilesThere are a miriad of others to choose from, but the above fit with everything in my opinion, both the light and dark blue and the wood. Porcelain is a tough tile which will not crack or break easily. they are very long lasting. vinyl is out dated and just doesn't look good. Your other option should be ceramic tiles. So it should be between ceramic and porcelain. I'd still recommend porcelain but ceramic is cheaper, that's the biggest advantage of ceramic. Hi Rachel, We would advise against using bleach to clean the grout as it only stains the grout and doesn't get rid of the dirt. Bleach, as well baking soda and vinegar, will also break the grout down over time and damage it. A specialist grout cleaner will clean the dirt and help restore the whiteness, without the risk of damaging your grout or the tiles themselves. If it's really bad, removing the grout and re-doing it is the best option, and then be sure to use a grout protector afterwards to ensure it stays clean and bright white in the future. You could also re-do the grout with a darker colour grout, as this is much easier to keep looking fresh.
