I wouldn't have thought that the power source would change the price all that much. If you 're putting in integral blinds that require a motor to run them, whether you choose to power that via solar power or electrically shouldn't make much difference, If anything I would have thought that solar was more expensive to install as it's not the norm. I would be most intrigued to know the answer.

Does it actually need to be a metal strip or just look metallic? One alternative would be to paint wooden beading (a bit like picture frame wood but I’m not sure what it’s called) metallic gold and effectively frame the wallpaper. yep, a standard lamp will be fine, but would need the plug changing on it to a 5A one (round pins). it's just the plug socket that's different so that nothing else can be plugged in there. Might be nice to have but I think the benefit is diminishing these days with smart lighting.

I bought something similar to this, quite cheaply, from Dunelm (in UK ). Great for a corner cupboard in the darkest area of the kitchen.
