5 amp lighting - where to source?

Hello. We are about to embark on a house renovation project and our architect has included several 5 amp sockets for lighting in the electrics plan. I like the idea of being able to turn lamps on from the main switch at the entrance to a room. However I have no idea where to purchase 5 amp lamps from. Is anyone able to help put me in the right direction for these? Also, do you think it’s worth proceeding with the 5 amp power points? Or should we simply proceed with standard 13 amp socket points? Thanks in advance for your help!

I had something along these lines in a past property ... I used normal lamps that had a really small triangle plug into a small socket - we were given a load of the diddy plugs by the electrician and told we could use them on any lamps ?! Hope that helps ?

yep, a standard lamp will be fine, but would need the plug changing on it to a 5A one (round pins). it's just the plug socket that's different so that nothing else can be plugged in there. Might be nice to have but I think the benefit is diminishing these days with smart lighting.

Hi Ben, I like the 2nd last design, the one without the cupboard opposite the boiler. Having a wall unit there breaks the sight line and makes it feel cluttered. I would use the shelves for glasses and cups. I have wood worktops from worktop express. Great quality, just a little wear 3 years on. We opted for an oil finish and need to do the 1st re-oil soon. We have a dishwasher so minimal dishes done but the sink is siliconed under it's rim. Water doesn't seem to be an issue yet.

Dear cjc, kiki, & dorset -- these are fantastic ideas. I have found several options that come close thanks to your comments. I've made a collage of some faves. (The small dark pewter pendant (x 3 over kitchen island) is the shape I am trying to co-ordinate with). It's 7 inches in diameter (looks bigger in the collage; it's not to scale) Let me know if you have a view about which 'cloche style glass pendant' option works best. Thanks again.
