lighting recommendations

Hello

I was wondering if on the off chance, could anyone recommend some lighting for me please? We would like modern, not too big or too much of a statement as there will need to be 2 in the room (living room ceiling lights). Probably a max of 35/40cm... we really like the hoop lights but they tend to be too bright (especially with 2 of them) and are not dimmable.

That's true. Maybe just a pale grey feature wall somewhere as you originally said. Some artwork would help but there's not much wall space for hanging stuff. The bathroom will be all new anyway so maybe leave the wow factor as you can't cater for everyone's taste. If it's neutral they can do what they want with it decor wise. Maybe shop around for some vinyl, they do some great ones. A wood effect would be quite timeless with metro tiles.

Hello Laura, I think a pendant light could be lovely.. What about a Fiorella light by Nigel Coates for Slamp available at his site. www.nigelcoates.com. It's rather lovely and has a family of other lighting options to go with.. Table lamps in two sizes and also wall light... You could paint the inside of the front door to give it some depth and think of interesting textures perhaps on the artwork idea.. See below.. For colours I thought earthy tones such as those in the canvas could work beautifully with a natural rug and you can layer these colours as you like from the pale in the sky to the earth colours to create the neutral glamour/Scandinavian you like... : )) A lovely convex oval mirror such as this one would be nice over the shoe storage.. A runner like this Jute Stockholm from nuLOOM is rather lovely.. Oil on Canvas..

I light grey/off white would look fab. It would lift it and help bounce the light around. Perhaps a large mirror would help too. It would also ties in the dining chairs more and compliment the work surfaces. Good luck

Hi Ellie. Right ignore the IP rating, apparently a requirement for bathrooms only, I thought the same would be sensible in some areas in the kitchen but apparently not! if you like the anglepoise I'd probably put some mid century style pendants with them. I would personally go for glass to emit as much light as possible If you're not having any downlights and a sputnik style over the table which will disperse light over the length of the table. It also doesn't visually fill the space too much which may be good with the drop in ceiling height? Do you have any cabinet handles at all btw? I don't know how you feel about having the light hung low over the table (typically a min of 76cm above the table). I've added a pic of the black version of the brass one as it's hung even lower the 76cm. If you don't like this idea there are a number of semi-flush ones which would work. I've also added the last pic as I guess layout is similar. Sadly the wall lights are no longer sold where they but will persist in trying to find similar if you like this look!

Hi, Are you still looking for some recommendations?

Hoop ceiling lightings are a trend at the moment and it would look great in living room area. Have you thought about a specific colour you would like? Also, if you could post an image of your living room, that will help me give you the best recommendation of lighting. I would be delighted to help you.

We have hoop lights that come in different sizes - 600mm, 1000mm and 1400mm. All three sizes are available in either 2400K, 2700K and 3000K options and are available as dimmable lights. Let me know if I can help you any further with this. Kate, Pendalier.
