If you want to add an En-suite you need to post a room plan with dimensions............also, if the bed takes up all the space, how do you envisage an En-Suite and a bed?

I know it sounds like a daft question...............do you want a single in there against the gable and an En-Suite? The bed looks like it would fill the room across ways also, which, if you put the En-Suite at the end you wouldn't be able to get to, as the bed would still be in the way.

Just a little confused...........not difficult for me, I manage it all the time.

You would also need to mark on the plan the area of floor that you can stand in comfortably, which looks like just the apex, so an En-Suite is going to be difficult.

with the bed rotated, there is enough height to the apex of the roof to get past and access the proposed en suite.

another option I was considering was to have the en suite adjacent to top of the staircase.

i think both options would work with the shower located at the apex.

Many further suggestions or similar examples?

That sounds do'able then. It's weird how things look in photos sometimes. The pic you posted looks like the bed won't even fit if you spin it, yet the room is 11'6" deep, so it will fit easily as you say.

The only other thing to consider is where the toilet needs to be to join in with the existing down pipe, so the logistics of that may determine it's site.

Adjacent to the top of the stairs may work, but then the waste pipe would need to go in between joists providing they are running front to back and there may not be enough of a fall to do that.

A great use of a small space above. The problem with trying to put in a shower also, is not just that you need the height at the apex, but that, if you want a toilet and basin also, which have to sit either side, you need approx 75cm mininum in front of the shower to come forward and out of the door. You can't put on a side door as you would step straight in to the loo or the hand basin. Thus you would take up a min of 800 for a shower plus your aquaboard and tiles, then another 75mm of standing space and 100mm for a stud wall.

The height to apex is 2400, and angle of pitch doesn’t seem to be at tight as Michelle’s, so think we would have a wider head height walking area, and bit more flexibility on how to lay out the en suite. Bed is 2100, and rotated still have plenty of head room to get passed and into the proposed en suite.

Michelle's images are a great example of what I am trying to achieve, but looks like my room would be bigger with more head height, and we could fit a shower.
