Future addition - different floor levels

Hello,

we we just purchased a home and we want to put an addition on the back of the house. This will join the kitchen and living room together and create an open rear of the house. Now to the dilemma: kitchen was recently renovated w tile and UFH was added. New floor was added to living room, hallway and downstairs cloakroom, engineered hardwood without UFH. with the addition the tile in the kitchen will be higher then the engineered hardwood. What do we do? ultimately would like UFH on the first floor so can we salvage the engineered floor and add UFH or do we continue the tile in the new addition on the kitchen side and use engineered hardwood in the living room addition with a height diffefence of 1-2 cm?
