Comments (10)I don't think it's advisable to put a fridge under an oven or next to it is it? I'm sure i've read that somewhere. Might have been Karen at OnePlan, she's a whizz with kitchens, well everything really! Have you got a plan with dimensions of the whole kitchen...................might be easier. I think you may need to start with taking out that radiator and putting in a different heat source like plinth heaters. At least that will make the space more useable. However, I notice that there is also a descaler of some sort attached to the pipework at the back, so I'm not sure how deep you'll be able to go in to that recess. It also doesn't look wide enough for an appliance. Rough guess from the pic i'd say it's less than 50cm even with the rad gone....See MoreDIY garage renovation help
Comments (3)Thanks Sonia, my thoughts exactly on the channel, it may not be for that, could just be an odd design or bad construction. I am thinking it can be filled and levelled after giving it a good clean up. Jet wash was going to be my first move and then see what I am left with as to whether I need anything stronger to get it up....See MoreGarden vs Garage dilema. Please help!
Comments (11)I live in a part of the country where weirdly people seem to like their car to be behind their house rather than in front of it even if it adversely affects their garden. There is no doubt a resale buyer who will only look at a house with a garage but lots of people convert their garage into extra rooms so I wouldn’t worry too much about loosing yours. If it were my house I be mindful of the original cost of construction but would be ok about demolishing the garage as long I had considered to following: does keeping the garage structure benefit you? Could you put a garage into the front part of the carport then link a room at the back of the carport to the current garage? Would the back garden garage make a better room than under the car port, would it be wider and taller and get better sun? Could you gain outside space a different way such as removing deep hedges or the shed or adding a first floor balcony should you build a link from the aforementioned room at the back of the carport to the garage room?...See More- 8 years ago
