Need advice on Kitchen.. Help!!
Comments (13)Thank you all for getting back to me, I really appreciate your comments. I had never thought of parquet flooring, I'm definitely going to have a look in to that, I was worried that the white tile may look to clinical, I think a wood floor may give it that extra warmth and texture. With the mirror backsplash, I'm glad to here that it is possible, if the company that we went to still disagrees, I will look at alternative suppliers. Yes, there is a 2.5 metre window and an orangery directly opposite the kitchen, you maybe able to see it briefly in the second image in my first post. So there is quite a lot of light coming in to the room. Thanks again for all your help :)...See MoreAdvice on kitchen worktops/splashbacks needed please
Comments (18)Hello mayfieldinnorfolk How timely, our revamped kitchen splashback website is now live, we offer over 9 categories of kitchen splashbacks. All of these are toughened and heat resistant up to 400 degrees. Kitchen splashbacks are our specialty, how about LED ones? http://www.sunstudio.london/glass-splashbacks-2 Let me know if you are interested, we keep our prices 20-30% lower than the competition while maintaining the top-tier quality. If you've already got a quote, we will make it much cheaper (Everything in-price). Have a nice day, Erwin (Sunstudio)...See MoreKitchen project and (marble effect?) backsplash suggestions please!
Comments (21)Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who helped with ideas, and especially Jen for giving me a bit of inspiration and a light bulb moment! You are so right, holding your nerves whilst it’s going up is the hardest!! . I did opt for a splash back only and extended it so it goes a little under the cupboards. I’ve posted the finished pic below and hopefully going to accessorise with copper and wood to add warmth! A big hug and thanks to all x...See MoreNeed advice please for a new kitchen/dining area
Comments (5)A few images from a couple of variants of design for a kitchen a year or two back for a client which picks up a few of the design ideas you refer to, with peninsula/hob, tall "bank" and also link through to their utility with breakfast area. There is insufficient info on your diagram to go much further (more detail on window sizes & heights, direction of door hanging, plumbing constraints etc) but what you are thinking should be broadly workable with some tweaking. A few general points: It looks as though you have retained two doors next to each other into kitchen/dining area. If one can be removed, I probably would. I would probably look to replace the kitchen table with breakfast bar seating My initial gut says an American fridge/freezer would not work in your scheme, and I would go integrated. A few companied do extra tall integrated ones if you are seeking extra space. With the styles you highlight, I would recommend seeking out a provider of German kitchens - they really are the best in the business at sleek handleless and generally have far, far more options on unit sizes, heights, widths & depths to help achieve the look you desire. Our main German brand Hacker would do everything you need, so perhaps seek out their local studio and check references. Excellent quality and keen prices compared to some German brands! I would also highly recommend the "flat rail" handleless kitchens from the English Rose and Mackintosh brands - a very sleek option, great quality doors and one of the best British carcasses on the market. The English Rose units are usually available within 2 weeks and the Mackintosh in 4. While St Albans is too far for us to travel to install, if you were inclined to go "supply only" or wish just to purchase design services, feel free to get in touch....See More- 6 years ago
