What might work in that case is to sand the wood sections back to the original to remove any varnish/ oil and apply a limed oak/ oak countertop sealant. I've used the Rubio monocoat 2c product which has worked excellently. Of course there is labour involved in the sanding and application but if you want to achieve your perfect look it is worth investing the time/ cost. If you follow this route you can then apply a maintenance oil a few years later to bring back the fresh look. In this case you would not have to re-sand the wood sections. Hi, I would suggest warming up the space using a wooden dinning table. It sounds like you have a minimalist looking kitchen, so a warm wood would look great against the clean lines, white and grey.
