Just a thought .... but you could always do the central breast in the tropical paper and the alcoves in the animal one. Would make it feel like the centre of a tree with the animals swinging at the sides, haha.

I voted all tropical otherwise...

Yes everything in the room is changing, including the sofas. It’s a dark room so maybe the tropical would be too dark?

Whilst I think the paper is fun, I think both may dominate the room a little.

It could work if everything were to be lightened up, but I think I'd try and find a less imposing pattern albeit still with the tropical theme.

Thanks Ribena, I have exhausted all the tropical wallpapers and there isn’t such thing!

Also if anyone has any ideas about what other themes of wallpaper would be good for this wall then please fire away!!

I'm just curious as to how you'll be furnishing the room. I think you need to see your wallpaper choices together with floor, furniture etc. to get a good idea about what and whether it will work.

Anyway, here's an example of only the chimney breast part of the wall in a feature wallpaper. But I do think that you could do the entire wall. It will make a statement anyway.

Thanks everyone, all very inspiring ideas and advice. We are thinking now about going for the tropical wallpaper on the chimney breast only then the rest of the room a neutral colour and get nice furnishings. Wallpaper is scAry!
