Im building a new bathroom with a shower room...need help with layout/design

Hi Glen, The size and shape of your space is not dissimilar to many we refurbish, and you do have pleant of options. As "bubbles" suggests, Mereway, Trend (and many others) offer ranges of standalone and built in furniture which would be ideal for your needs. Do you have a budget in mind? If so, to have some insight into that would help to advise on how to get most bang for your buck. To give an idea of what I would recommend: - Remove existing suite and radiator. -Remove existing tiling, re-plasterboard and skim -Install a "Square P" (sometimes called L shape) bath of 850 x 1700, wide end at door end of room with new screen and shower. At "window end", box in from end of bath to wall, possibly with an open shelf unit above -replace flooring with either a good quality vinyl, palio-click or tile flooring -at window end of bathroom, install 600 wide vanity unit with rectangular basin on top on the left (next to boxed in section) with a "concealed cistern" and back to wall WC to the right of that, filled to the boxed in section on the right - see image below (sorry it is small and grainy) -fit a mirrored wall storage unit on the right hand wall above a modern, chrome towel rail/warmer Wrt tiling - I would be tempted to only tile in the bath "corner" with a small splashback of tiles behind the run of furniture along the window wall Colours and finish are always very personal, but I would be tempted by walnut and white with quite square fixtures & fittings (taps, showerhead, radiator etc.) to complement the clean lines of the furniture and bathroom. If you wanted me to "mock up" the above ideas in CAD, I'd be happy to do so free of charge over the weekend (a quick task!), and we could give you a feel for costs. I finally have a bathroom designer coming out in a week or so time. Already they have asked me questions such as do I want tiling all over and other details re fixtures and fittings. What is the recommendation / popular choice re tiling. Is it all over and if so do I use same tile or different in different areas? Is there a better colour tile to use to keep it timeless? And what is the opinion of recess in wall in shower / above bath? Are they practical / useful or expensive for what they are/ difficult to clean? Any other things I should consider in advance of meeting? And is there anything special I should ask for which makes it look the bees knees? And realistically does my budget need to be higher? Sorry for all the questions!

It seems odd to have the loo in the shower, could it not go the other side of the divider? Otherwise the seat will be wet after anyone uses the shower.

Hi @KXD, I’m very happy you like the layout! There is still some potential to tweak it depending on what the most important aspects are for you. I would recommend considering the size of the bath and whether you need 2 sinks! I traced the shape of the corner bath from the original design. But if this is a really important part of the bathroom to you then I suggest that you thoroughly research the options for corner baths as they vary greatly in the shape and the critical dimension is the base length (which affects if you can lie down and stretch out in the bath or not). Regular straight baths have more options with longer base lengths but this makes the bath a lot longer than a corner one. (but you would have space for it with only 1 sink) A solution to this can be to have a regular bath installed at an angle in a built in, tiled surround.
