It's quite a long narrow space. I think removing some items would give it more room to breathe. I think I would remove the star as the subway tile is a feature in itself.

If it is change you are looking for, I would stick to neutral colour artwork or perhaps a small(ish) mirror - although quite controversial being placed above the toilet.

I can see the swan in a dark moody room like a cosy living room or hall. Against a navy wall it would look fab. Lovely bathroom.

Thank you, I think what gets me is the starkness of the white with the star it draws the bath and toilet into focus (and sink) whereas the swan brings in an element of colour but may not be the right thing to choose!

I agree, it’s a lovely bathroom. I’m not so keen on the actual art in the room but I do love the wood frame. Maybe look for another piece in wood (maybe a black and white photo?) and I’d add a plant (or a vase of preserved eucalpytus) on the windowsill as that should attract your eye there if you’re not keen on the white sanitaryware

Personally I think you need something much bigger. And I agree that more wood will soften the room

I definetly think bringing more wood in will help, will be looking g to replace the blinds with wooden ones and a darker wood plank

Not sure where your towel rails are but you can get some really lovely bright bathroom patterned towels now in the Missoni style without the price tag, Habitat has some. I would also look at Donna Wilson. Marimekko too, available from Nordic Nest. They have good sales if you wait a while. They would look great with a plain grey and white bathroom like yours.

Just noticed your flooring has stars too Jo which explains the star on the wall! I think your bathroom looks very calm and organised and I think if you’re happy to stick with a star theme try Googling towels with stars. There are plenty of colourful options but I’d choose grey and white. Alternatively you can’t go wrong with adding simple white towels.

Thanks Betty, yes lots of stars! We have a few white towels that we could repurpose within the room - looking also at neural and brown tones but hard to see until it’s in!
