I guess there was no mention from seller of possibility of these kind of 'imperfections' before you bought? We have a large white marble table with absolutely no pitting whatsoever which has been perfect for over twenty years, but our black marble bathroom basins have got some and seem to develop more. We don't mind it so much but the company we bought it from did warn us but also said this wouldn't adversely affect the performance. Have you been in touch with the provider yet?
