It’s totally understandable — even a few ants or small spiders can get annoying fast. For a house you want to keep mostly pest-free, a simple routine works well:

• Seal access points first: tighten door sweeps, caulk gaps around windows, and screen off weep holes or utility lines. These tiny gaps are where both ants and spiders slip in.

• Use a non-repellent perimeter spray outside (like fipronil or indoxacarb concentrates) so ants walk through it and share it back to the colony.

• Apply a light interior residual in cracks/crevices only — baseboards, behind appliances, under sinks. Avoid broad interior spraying.

• Deploy gel bait for ants near trails or entry spots; it works better than sprays when they’re foraging.

• Reduce spider habitat by vacuuming webs, decluttering corners, and keeping exterior lights minimized at night since lights attract their food source.

• Check moisture around bathrooms, kitchens, and the HVAC drip pan; damp areas pull in both pests.

This combination of sealing, targeted treatments, and moisture control usually keeps ant and spider sightings to an occasional minimum in most homes.
