Hi, yes I agree that flooring is terrible. A proper, qualified and experienced tiler would never have left it like that. Now I don’t want to exert more pressure on you, but you really should get him to reimburse you enough to get the flooring re-done. But that’s up to you.

i think your idea of a mirror is a great idea. I’d go for big and ornate to jazz It up a bit. White towels always look smart in a dark bathroom. They don’t have to be expensive, Dunelm and The Range do some nice ones. A blind would be good, either a linen roller type natural one, or a faux slatted wooden Venetian.

Dusty pink always looks good with brown, so if white towels are not for you, you could try this. A few plants dotted about would look nice, either faux or real. Here’s a few pics for inspiration.

Why not just install vinyl flooring with a nice pattern as shown on Forza Italia's first photo. That looks great, is very easy to install and will get rid of any missmatched grouting, etc. As for the mirror, you definitely have to position it above the basin. And to balance it out, put a nice painting in the same size on the left. That would fill the empty space and add some visual interest.

I agree with man about the house, the door looks a little out of place such a bright white a different colour might work better.

Mirrors i would pick a large mirror so it sits over the basin (lines up on the right hand) but take it along the wall to where the shower is, it won't look so odd not being central then and give you illusion or more width to the room.

I would also fit a larger shower tray the width of the room, that again will make your bathroom feel larger and no need for bigger glass.

I personally would take the floor up, maybe a lighter floor and large square tiles 60x60cm would make the room feel bigger and you would have less grout joins.

I like the wall tiles and the layout and sorry you had a rough experience with the tiler/fitter.

Sorry not had time to read above so hopefully I am not repeating.. nothing wrong with the mirror suggested but I would go for a full side to side mirror.. full length of that wall (2 tiles high) running from the basin right to the corner. If you can, a water proof blind at the window would soften the dark lines of the grout a little - it can still be stone or black colour but the change in material will give that result.
