Hi. I think I'd go for the darker green on all walls as from memory you said the room was really light. Personally I wouldn't have the tv on the panelled ŵall as its your feature ŵall and the tv will stand out if you're going for green. Hang the tv above the sideboard on the left hand ŵall. Add table lamps either side of the tv so it conceals the leads. Pull both sofas out from the walls a little. Add the chair where the stove is but not pushed into the corner so it has space behind it. You could try the ladder towards the rhs of the panelled ŵall and move the floor lamp to where the small sideboard is. I'd paint the sideboard charcoal as it will have more impact than the current grey ( although that will still look good) against the green and then add just a couple of grey cushions. Maybe a modern pendant for the ceiling. I don't think it will be too cluttered, you are losing bigger pieces. What is next to the sideboard though as that looks a little cluttered? Do practice with the new sideboard though before you buy the chair so you can see how much space there is

Hello nskingle, I think it's very easy to mix and blend styles and from the sounds of things you have some very nice pieces... Consider a colour scheme for the bones of the place and then start to weave in the furnishings.. I can see something bold and dramatic.. The most important aspect is that you have an interesting and textural home that you love. Try to be instinctual and don't be afraid to move things around yes.. Styling is one of my favourite aspects of my role and you'll know when you have found the right place for something or even a collection of things.. Enjoy the process.. : ))

The only issue with ledged and brace with traditional fittings is the draftproof element. They do tend to curl way from the stops in my experience. If you have the money id go for a framed ledge and brace or any other style you fancy made bespoke for you to suit your sizes. If sound / draft proofing is an issue you can put a seal in the door stop that the door shuts tight against cutting out all draft and noise.

My sister has recently renovated her 1950s house and she’s had tiles similar to these in her hall with the bannisters and all woodwork painted in Purbeck Stone. It looks amazing! Her only complaint is the tiles do show every footprint so shoes off at the door!
