large lounge diner need help me with fire and tv placement please!
Comments (18)It's further than I thought. My concern was the stepped in wall and also the opening to the dining area but as it's further up than I thought the ".entrance" should be fine. You would however be left with an alcove between new and old fire. I wonder what shelves would look like there (I couldn't find an exact pic) or just box it in.. Tadelakt is similar to polished concrete, polished plaster, microcement etc, you could look at any of them just to add a bit of texture/warmth. You could always pay someone to do a CAD design in your room if this is your preferred option? Having said that if you frequently have large parties maybe it's not a great idea to have a fixed structure there? Maybe a tv and fire side by side is a better option? Will see if I can find a pic...See MoreVictorian terrace flat remodelling tv tv
Comments (5)Hi Yvona I think the 3rd option works best. However, I would suggest that you consider the following. 1 the gap between the kitchen units and island, this could be reduce to give you move living room space. 2 a larger combined bathroom & shower with a wc under the stair. This option will reduce your storage space, but give you a nice bathroom. You could also introduce an additional door access into the middle bedroom too. 3 option to introduce one large bifold and one door to the external garden wall. Hope these helps Regards...See MorePlease advise: TV above fire place, what shelves?
Comments (4)Lol. You should clarify the scope of work with any trades person you hire. Don't assume anything! I would suggest a competent handyman. You could hire an electrician but that might work out more expensive. You could also go to a Home Audio Visual Installation company but they can work out the most expensive. They do, however, offer many more services like fitting surround sound systems, ceiling speakers, home cinema systems etc. So generally you would get a handful of quotes, making sure you have explained exactly what you want done and then pick the most reasonable one. You can try sites like mybuilder.com to find local trades people. They can give you quotes online....See MoreStyling Ideas - TV Cabinet, Rug Colour, Side Table
