Integrated appliances advice.

We have been looking at kitchen layouts instores and online.

We would like integrated appliances.

So, on the left side we have integrated fridge freezer.

On the right side.....

Is it possible that we have an integrated washing machine and above it the boiler? I want that to be completely seemless - as in the photo.

For inspiration I have been looking at diykitchens website. I can see you can get integrated appliance doors for washing machine (door only - is this all you need and you do not need an actual housing unit for washing machine?) and above it would I put a tall wall unit? g I want it to look like the above photo eg the washing machine/ with boiler above to look just like the fridge freezer.

Or can I have one long larder type door that would go over both boiler and washing machine?

Any advice is welcome, thanks!

You don’t need a housing/carcass for the washing machine. The door fits to the front of the integrated washer on hinges. You need a 715mm high x 595-7mm wide door for this. Suppliers vary between either 595 or 597. Both the same in essence it’s just the very slight difference from company to company. Don’t order a larder door as you need a door to fit on the washer.

The boiler will also need a housing or you’ll have nothing to fit the door to. So you need to measure the boiler and then order the door accordingly which is normally a couple of mm smaller.

I’m sure I know where this company order their doors from and they do offer made to size doors.

I think that should work nicely, but as Daisy says have two doors. The washing cupboard door fits on the machine. I have an integrated washing machine and the boiler is housed in a kitchen cupboard, just not on top of one another, but that sounds good! Here’s pics to clarify:

I don't think it's advisable to put a fridge under an oven or next to it is it? I'm sure i've read that somewhere. Might have been Karen at OnePlan, she's a whizz with kitchens, well everything really! Have you got a plan with dimensions of the whole kitchen...................might be easier. I think you may need to start with taking out that radiator and putting in a different heat source like plinth heaters. At least that will make the space more useable. However, I notice that there is also a descaler of some sort attached to the pipework at the back, so I'm not sure how deep you'll be able to go in to that recess. It also doesn't look wide enough for an appliance. Rough guess from the pic i'd say it's less than 50cm even with the rad gone.

Do you mean the plinth that goes under the doors and sits on top of the floor attached to the cupboard legs? If so, it doesn't make any difference to the floor as the plinth doesn't sit flush with the front of the cupboards and you alway put the flooring back as far as the legs of the units. If you don't mean the plinth, then i'd draw a pic of what you mean as down turn also not right.

Strange. It didn't upload. That's it up now. The Fridgefreezer opening that way allows access to both worktops. If I was taking contents from the door it would allow me to place on both worktop. Because it is left of centre I thought it be better opening on left? Maybe not? If it opened on the right from this position it is kind of forcing you to use the left hand work surface? Also if I put the shopping on the floor in between the larder and the fridge to pack food away I can easily have fridge door and larder doors open and just pop things in. If it was right hinged I would have to step around the door. Am I overthinking this yet?! LOL The living room is off to the right with french doors so you would be opening the contents and light to the living room and whoever is in there too. Have a wee look sure and let me know your thoughts :-) Much appreciated!

We all have different tastes so difficult to advise. Will it be a more traditional shaker kitchen and what colour? I would choose something to go with the rest of the kitchen. Personally I wouldn’t have black, but that’s just my opinion, unless it’s a very glossy modern kitchen. Have a look at kitchens on Houzz or Pinterest to give you some ideas?

We had our boiler (it has just been transferred to the loft) in a housing intended for an integrated fridge freezer. We had our bins for recycling in the bottom half.

Can definitely work, I’d also recommend speaking to DIY kitchens about what you want and the best way they recommend achieving it. They’re really helpful
