Ok so, I think there are a couple of options which come to mind.

1. If it really bugs you to have the electrics left corner of the room, you could ask an electrician to move the sockets across to the middle of the room. Now this might mean taking up your floor/carpet this might not be an option however I just wanted to float the idea incase it is an option. The other thing the electrician may suggest is running a cable across the bottom of the ceiling which may not look aesthetically pleasing but again it all depends on how much pain it is causing you! Also wires can be easily painted over and camouflaged.

2. I suggest swapping the different areas around so that the living room is closer to the bi-folds and have the dining room in the bottom right area. You could add a L shaped sofa or a three and two seater sofa to zone out the space in the living area. That way you don't have to move around the electrics.

I assume your kitchen has a table for eating at?

I would have living room Sofa at bottom right of pic, dining by bifolds. Especially if you plan to have a TV as the glare/sun etc could make it difficult to watch by the bifolds

thank you both Rukmini and Elle this is a new build so very much blank canvas so eltrics being move is a possibility. due to position of the bi folds I was trying to gather layout inspiration so the idea of L sofa or 4 seater with two arm chairs great idea just in which orientation how would you tie in with dining area. Ellie yes the kitchen has space for small table and chairs

It looks like the original design intention for this space was probably to have a sofa - possibly a corner sofa, to the wall to the right of the room with TV opposite (as you've explained the sockets are planned) and leaving the bifold door area clear, then possibly a dining table to the inner part of the room, near the door.

I suggest that you cut out some furniture pieces of paper to scale with the plan you have and play with different layouts for that furniture. Each time you get to a layout you like then take a photo. You could then post these up again here for more input if you needed it, but this might be enough to help you decide what you prefer.
