Hi Laura, Thanks for your question. Yes, the countertops are built up to a 3" thickness. The floor tile is a porcelain tile that resembles Calacatta Gold. The countertops are quartz and the mosaic tile behind the tub is Calacatta Gold marble. I hope this helps!

What thickness is the counter - 3"? And is that real Calcatta Gold Marble? So pretty! Love the doors too!

Carolina is correct here with recommending a Victorian Floor Tile or Quarry tile. They do come in 100x100mm approx and are in a matt finish. Regardless of what finish you choose, the thing with wet UFH is that it relies on heat building up in and being stored in the floor slab. You don’t really ever turn it off in the winter, you just set the room thermostats for different temperatures at different times of the day. In the summer you just set the thermostat to frost setting so it never kicks in. We have tiles and I like having a cool floor in the summer heat, as do my dogs. In autumn and spring other finishes may feel more cosy as sometimes the tiled floor doesn’t feel obviously warm when the air is up to temp, tho it’s not properly cold either.

@d_omongain, thank you! We actually saw those tiles but the colourway was wrong. The two versions of the tile we liked -- black on white and turquoise on white weren't available individually -- you had to buy either of these as a mixed set. If you work with this company, please encourage them to print different colourways! The quality seemed fantastic.

Hi Stacy, it’s quartz slabs that are 3cm thickness. The corners are mitered and the sides are also quartz.
