Corner Window Dressing Ideas

Hello

I would love to hear any ideas you may have how to dress this window. I was not going to do anything with it but the sun in the morning and evening is very strong.

I have thought about:

Two roman blinds, but don't like that they'll block light at top
One big curtain at one side (as the other side has a radiator blocking it)
I have attached a pic of blind which I do like (second pic), but as the ceilings is raised at on one side, this isn't an option(?)

Hello,

What a lovely window and view!

If the sun is particularly bright and you just want to block the sun, how about some voiles which you can draw to block some of the sunlight and linen curtains to draw in the evening?

Or have a sheer linen fabric only which you can use day and night?

I agree you may need a curtain you can pull right the way across to one side.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, the voil is a good idea but it’s the rail which might be an issue given the different wall heights?

Hi Scott, Sorry it's been a little while since you posted this. Hopefully I can offer a little advice. You're right, shutters won't fold flat in your space. Of course, if you're set on shutters, you could still have them. If you chose wide louvres (to let lots of light in) and opted for a hidden tilt rail for a clean, uncluttered feel, you could simply tilt the louvres to let the light in in the day. However, as you say you'd want them open in the day, bi-fold shutters may still be an option. It does however look like you still wouldn't have room for these to open fully, but instead the shutters may open and get stuck. If you went for shutters in the recess and had them open to a 90 degree angle, this could be an option though. Alternatively, if these sound like compromises you're not willing to make, why not try Wooden blinds with tape? They have a continental feel that many people feel mimics shutters, and are of course a cheaper alternative. You could also opt for a faux Wood for the bathroom, along with tape, to keep the look both coordinated and practical. Hope that helps, and good luck with your search, Zoe

The best way to keep the cold out would be to have floor length lined curtains. This would exclude the draft the best. Is the sill narrow enough to sit behind some curtains? In terms of style, a classic French Pinch Pleat or a tailored pleat gives a full appearance. Select from a single, double or triple pleat. This is perfect for large window areas and bay windows. Dressing corner in bedroom

Realising that my design dilemma is not a corner but the entire wall of this bedroom : I don’t know what to do with it. The current wardrobe (taken from our previous flat) looks small and lost in there. Unfortunately the wall is not deef enough to allow for a full length fitted wardrobe (would block entrance of doors on right and side and window on the left) but we still need some storage here. Any ideas ?

Hi - I wouldn't worry about the ceiling height as the rail would go on the wall and not the ceiling. When you show the curtain maker what you are after they will be able to advise the height accordingly and how far you can go.

I agree with Rukmini, have the rail on the wall above both windows In a straight line mirroring the windows. Another option is wooden Venetian blinds in an off white. You can get different width slats and they give a modern clean look. You can therefore have them up to enjoy the view, or closed enough to block out the glaring sun, or fully down for privacy in the evenings.
