Hi Cara ! Do you have a shiny worktop ? ...If yes I'd suggest you go for a defused light instead - as less glare ! ...If no - then these sort of lights can give good task lighting directly under - or LED strips give a more spread out light . Do you have a light pelmet to hide a light behind ? Or a routed out part to insert flexible LED ?

We removed 6 recessed spots from our breakfast room ceiling and replaced them with one central pendant light and it was the best thing ever! The lighting was always harsh even with trying all sorts of different bulbs and a dimmer but now it's transformed. We put off doing it for years as we thought it would be a major job and require re-plastering the ceiling but it was all done in less than 2 days. Our electrician did the wiring changes which didn't take him long and then the decorator patched the holes left by the recessed spots and used filler to blend them in. A coat of paint to the entire ceiling and you cannot see at all where the old lights were.

Hi, does anyone have any advice re fitting led lights along the underside of kitchen units. I have all the materials but can see a problem around the bottom of the integrated dishwasher as it needs to have a cut out in the plinth

Hi Christine, We normally go with a diffuser / profile (generally they are both part of the same item) if the LED's are going to be visible (ie under wall cabinets in a kitchen) or just as is without a diffuser if under the units on the plinth in the main. Have a look here for someone who used them under both areas without a diffuser and you can just about see the small pinpoints of light when you look close enough under the wall units. These aren't too high though so you'd not normally see them when you're standing.
